Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 10, 2026
SnapSense is built to be private by design. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and doesn't do with your information.
The short version: SnapSense analyzes your screenshots entirely on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's built-in frameworks. Your screenshots and the text extracted from them never leave your device and are never sent to us. There's no account to create. The free version shows occasional ads through Google AdMob, and purchases are handled by Apple — both described below. We don't sell your personal data, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
Contents
1. Who we are
SnapSense is developed and published by Axain Studios ("we", "us", "our"). This policy applies to the SnapSense mobile app for iOS and iPadOS. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. How analysis works
When you select, paste, or capture a screenshot, SnapSense processes it on your device using Apple's on-device technologies — including the Vision framework for text recognition (OCR) and barcode/QR detection, and data detectors and natural-language tools for finding structured details such as dates, phone numbers, links and addresses.
This means the image and its contents are read and understood locally. Your screenshots and the text within them are not uploaded to our servers or shared with us.
3. Information stored on your device
To provide history, search and favorites, SnapSense stores the following locally on your device only, inside the app's private storage:
- The screenshots you analyze (saved in the app's private area, not your photo library).
- The text extracted from them and the detected details (such as flights, prices or links).
- The category, title and suggested actions for each analysis, and whether you marked it a favorite.
- App preferences, such as whether Face ID protection is enabled and your monthly free-usage count.
This information stays on your device. We have no access to it, and it is included in your device's normal encrypted backups if you use them.
4. What we do not collect
- We do not require or offer an account, and we do not collect your name, email or contacts.
- We do not upload, view, sell or share your screenshots or extracted text.
- We do not log your OCR text, phone numbers, emails, addresses or screenshot contents.
- We do not embed our own analytics or tracking SDKs in the app.
5. Device permissions
SnapSense requests permissions only when a feature needs them, and uses them only for that purpose on your device:
- Photos — so you can choose a screenshot to analyze. SnapSense only accesses the items you select.
- Camera — only if you choose to capture an image to analyze.
- Calendar — only when you tap "Add to Calendar", to create the event you asked for.
- Contacts — only when you tap "Save Contact", to create the contact you asked for.
- Face ID / biometrics — only to unlock your history if you enable that option. Authentication is handled by iOS; we never receive your biometric data.
6. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of SnapSense shows occasional ads (for example, a full-screen ad after an analysis) using Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK. To deliver and measure ads, Google may collect and process certain information such as device and advertising identifiers, IP address, general location derived from IP, and ad-interaction data. This processing is carried out by Google as an independent controller under Google's own policies.
- We do not share your screenshots, extracted text, or on-device history with Google or any ad provider.
- Ad attribution uses Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork where applicable.
- On iOS, you can influence ad personalization through Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and Apple Advertising. SnapSense does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt and requests non-personalized handling where required.
- You can learn how Google uses data from partner apps at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Upgrading to SnapSense Premium removes ads.
7. Subscriptions & purchases
SnapSense Premium is sold through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. When you purchase or restore, Apple processes the transaction and manages your subscription. We never receive or store your payment card details. The app checks your entitlement (whether Premium is active) through Apple on your device. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
8. Optional AI providers
SnapSense's core understanding runs on-device and requires no server. The app is architected so that an optional, clearly-labeled remote AI provider could be offered in the future to enhance analysis. If such an option is ever added, it will be off by default, will require your explicit opt-in before any screenshot content is sent anywhere, and this policy will be updated to describe it before it is enabled.
9. Data retention & your control
Because your analyses live on your device, you are in control of them:
- Delete any individual analysis from within the app's History at any time.
- Deleting the app removes its locally stored screenshots, extracted text and preferences from your device.
We do not hold this data, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our side.
10. Children
SnapSense is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the app or legal requirements. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll provide a more prominent notice in the app or on this site.
